My summer neighbor, several years back, was Joe Murray, recipient of a Nobel Prize in medicine for performing the first successful organ transplant. I once, half joking, asked him, “So what’s your secret?”
He replied with a smile, “We did more procedures.”
That is, while his peers theorized, Dr. Joe headed for the OR, put on his surgeon’s gown and gloves, asked the head nurse for his scalpel, and went to work.
